Requesting an Accessible Format or Communication Support

The City of Greater Sudbury will, upon request, provide or arrange for the provision of accessible formats and communication supports for persons with disabilities. 

When providing an accessible format or communication support, the City of Greater Sudbury will work with the person making the request to determine the suitability of the format or support and will provide the document or information in the agreed upon format in a timely manner that takes into account the person’s accessibility needs due to a disability and at a cost that is no more than the regular cost charged to other persons.

Assistive Listening Devices

Infrared and FM Assistive listening devices are available for public use while attending meetings of City of Greater Sudbury Committees and Council and events at City Hall. These devices may be booked by emailing accessibility@greatersudbury.ca.

Please note that the devices are not compatible with cochlear implants.

Interpretation and Note-taking Services

The City provides ASL interpretation, computerized note-taking and remote interpretation services for persons with disabilities attending meetings or events being hosted or run by the City of Greater Sudbury. Should you require this service please contact the Department or staff member responsible for organizing the event/meeting. If you are unsure of who to contact please email accessibility@greatersudbury.ca.

Please note that due to limited availability, ASL interpreters and computerized note-taking services must be booked in well in advance. Should your preferred method of interpretation be unavailable the City/staff will work with you to determine a suitable alternative.
