Residents Invited to Show Support for 2021 Canada Summer Games Bid at Mini-Summer Games Event

Residents are invited to the Ben Avery Building at Laurentian University to welcome the Canada Games Council’s Bid Evaluation Committee to the community, and to show support for Greater Sudbury’s bid for the 2021 Canada Summer Games. The Mini-Summer Games event will take place on Monday, February 27, from 1 to 2:15 p.m.  Limited parking will be available in lot 14 at Laurentian University, and residents are encouraged to car pool or use public transit.

The mini-Summer Games event will welcome Grade 3 students in from schools around Greater Sudbury to create an energetic and fun atmosphere for the Canada Games Council. Laurentian University student athletes will be passing on their knowledge and love for sport to these potential future Canadian athletes. 

This will be the final part of the 2021 Canada Summer Games bid evaluation process, and the announcement and awarding of the successful Host City is expected from the Canada Games Council and the Ontario Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport on March 30, 2017.
