Caisse populaire Vallée Est is Proud to Contribute to the Howard Armstrong Recreation Centre gazebo

Nov 21, 2014

Caisse populaire Vallée Est is proud to announce the installation of a gazebo at the Howard Armstrong Recreation Centre in the municipality of Greater Sudbury. The Caisse contributed $34,000 to make this infrastructure possible, once again showing its steadfast commitment to local development.

“The gazebo is a welcome addition to the park.” Said ward 6 Councillor Andre Rivest. “It took a lot of time and hard work and with the help of HCI funds and the generous donation provided by the Caisse Populaire, we were able to make it happen.”

The Gazebo, which is adjacent to the Howard Armstrong Recreation Centre will not only enhance the surroundings, but it will also provide some shade for families while their children have fun nearby.

True to its cooperative nature, the Caisse has offered financial support for a project that showcases how committed it is to growing and developing the community. “The Community Development Fund—a collective member dividend—serves as a development tool that complements the efforts made by other local resources to support major projects which meet the needs of the community,” stated Alain Larocque, President of the Board of Directors for the Caisse.

“This is an excellent example of the benefits a corporate sponsor can bring to an organization.” Said Catherine Matheson, General Director of Community Development. “On behalf of the City, I wish to thank the Caisse Populaire for their sponsorship. The residents will be able to appreciate the gazebo for many years to come.”
